A rapidly growing aspect of our apostolate as a community is running parish missions. These involve members of the community travelling to parishes around the country in order to spread the message of Walsingham – how we are called to live in the fullness of joy! We hope that through these missions we can sow seeds of parishes becoming ‘schools of prayer,’ in the words of Pope Francis. Our parish missions are not limited just to adults within a parish, we also like to incorporate catechesis for young people and children as appropriate recognising that they too are an integral part of every parish.

Members of our community have extensive experience in the running of retreats and providing accompaniment and we seek to accommodate a wide variety of needs, recognising the uniqueness of each parish and person.

Please read on for further information about our parish missions!

Week-Long Missions

This has been our most popular and successful option for a parish mission whereby we spend a week in a parish running a variety of events. From retreat days to rosary-making workshops to evenings of prayer to parish quizzes, we seek to engage the whole parish in a variety of ways. The duration of a week allows for a more consistent and intensive journeying with members of the parish. This format also enables us to visit the sick and housebound and to offer one-on-one accompaniment to those who desire it.

Monthly Missions

Another format we have utilised has been visiting a parish for one day a month for a duration of three months. This allows members of the parish to spend time between each day reflecting on various materials and prayer resources we provide them with.

One-Off Retreat Days

Whilst one-off retreat days do not enable as much of a sense of journeying with parishioners, we are still happy to offer them if it better suits the needs of a particular parish. We have run one-off retreat days focused on a variety of themes including reflections for Lent and Advent, Women’s Days, retreats themed on joy and growth in prayer and more besides!

Retreats in Walsingham

We also offer retreat days and talks in Walsingham for parishes. This can be anything from a talk on the spirituality and history of Walsingham to a full day or weekend exploring in greater depth all that Walsingham has to offer.  This is also not limited to just retreats for adults but can also be for young people, those receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation or First Holy Communion or family pilgrimages where we can offer different input for various age groups.

As with all of the above we are very flexible in striving to accommodate the needs of each particular group.
