A life of prayer, community and saying “yes” to God.
COLW started with the establishment of the vowed sisters branch in 2004.
We live in community, the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience, aiming to live as fully as possible the call to life and love and helping others do likewise by prompting a vocational culture in the Church and in contemporary society.
Recognising in the spirituality of Walsingham, an Incarnational spirituality, we desire to do as Mary has done herself: opening ourselves to the fulfilling of God’s will in our lives and helping others say ‘fiat’ in their lives. So, we are eminently Marian, something reflected in our habit and in the way we live. We are aware that our consecration has origin, develops and bears fruit through Mary, with Mary and in Mary, our mother, sister, teacher and model of discipleship. It is she who teaches us how to be daughters of the Father, spouses of her Son, Jesus Christ, and temples of the Holy Spirit. We also recognise in the mystery of the Annunciation the challenge to rekindle that joy which comes only from living in the Divine Will and following the call of God in one’s life.
